How do you obtain the blessing from the Lord? 

The blessing of the Lord makes one rich,

And He adds no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22

We are told that it is the blessing of the Lord that makes one rich. Richness has to do with both physical as well as spiritual riches. The question then is, how do we obtain the blessing of the Lord?

1. Be obedient to the Lord

When we are obedient to the Lord, He promised that He will bless us in everything we do:

Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:

Deuteronomy 28:1-3

2. Pray and ask for His blessing

Jabez, whose name meant sorrow, prayed and asked God to bless him and expand his territory and to keep him from evil so that it will not cause him pain (1 Chronicles 4:10).

Likewise, Jacob restled with the Angel of God and said he would not let him go until he blessed him.

Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

3. Sow good seeds for a rich harvest

The third way we can obtain the blessing is to sow good seeds. When there was famine in the land, Isaac wanted to run to Egypt, however he listened to the voice of God and sowed seeds in the land and the Lord blessed him and gave him a 100 fold harvest. He can do the same when you sow according to the leading of the Spirit:

When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the LORD blessed him.

Genesis 26:12 (NLT)

Prayer:

Dear Lord, please let Your blessing rest upon my life in Jesus’ name.

How do you obtain seven-fold restoration?  

Excuses might be found for a thief who steals because he is starving.

But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole, even if he has to sell everything in his house.

Proverbs 6:30-31 (NLT)

There are many things that are stolen from us as believers in Jesus Christ, many times without us even knowing it. The Bible tells us that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus has come that we might receive life and more abundantly (John 10:10).

Sometimes the thief comes to steal our joy, peace, health, finances, relationships and so forth. Sometimes, you may have dreams of losing things and it manifests in the natural realm. The question then is, how do we get those things back?

1. Restore what we owe to others

Many times we think restoration is only one way, but we also must restore unto people what is due to them. We are encouraged not to owe anyone anything but our love, therefore if there is anything that we have taken from people, we must restore it back to them:

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:8 (NIV)

2. Prayer for restoration

We need to pray to the God of Restoration to restore us. The Lord has promised to restore unto us the years that the locust has eaten. Therefore, let us put God in remembrance and ask Him to restore all that the enemy has stolen from us, so that we can make up for the lost years:

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you.

Joel 2:25 (KJV)

3. Demand back what the enemy stole from you

The Bible says that if the thief is caught, he must pay back seven-fold. Therefore any time you become aware the enemy has stolen from you; that is the time to demand back a seven-fold restoration.

Prayer:

Oh God of Restoration, please restore unto me everything that the enemy has stolen from my life knowingly or unknowingly in Jesus’ name:
