God’s Word will never fail: He will do all of what He has promised

Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

Joshua 21:45

We learn in the Scripture above that not one word failed of any good thing that God had spoken to Israel. Everything He said concerning Israel came to pass. As it was then, so it is now; we can be assured that everything God has promised us in His Word for our lives will come to pass. Here is why:

  1. God never fails

Moses assured the children of Israel that God will personally go ahead of them and He will be with them. He said that He will never fail them and that is what He wants you to know today. No matter what you may be going through, God will never abandon or fail you:

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

  1. Not one of God’s Word will fail

Jesus told us that until heaven and earth disappear, not one small detail of God’s Word will disappear until it has been fulfilled:

I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

Matthew 5:18 (NLT)

  1. The Word of God will accomplish the thing it was sent to do

The Word of God will always produce fruit. It will accomplish all of what God wants it to and will prosper everywhere He sends it:

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)

Prayer

Dear Lord, I thank You that Your word is alive and powerful. Help me to believe that Your word will never fail and that You will do all of what You have promised in Jesus name, amen.

You must be fearless to possess your mountain

And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph—to Ephraim and Manasseh—saying, “You are a great people and have great power; you shall not have only one lot, but the mountain country shall be yours. Although it is wooded, you shall cut it down, and its farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots and are strong.”

Joshua 17:17-18

Here Joshua was encouraging the house of Joseph – Ephraim and Manasseh that they should not be satisfied with one strip of land. He wanted them to possess the mountain country and to drive out the Canaanites even though they had iron chariots and were strong. There are several lessons about this advice that we can apply to our own lives:

  1. You have great potential within you

Joshua told the house of Joseph – Ephraim and Manasseh that they are a great people and have great power. The Lord wants us to know that we are a great people and have great power and potential within us. He has made us in His own image and He has filled us, as believers in Jesus Christ, with His Holy Spirit:

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:4 (KJV)

  1. God doesn’t want you to just have a little piece of the land, He wants you to possess a whole mountain

Joshua told the house of Joseph that they were not to be satisfied with just the strip of land because the mountain country was also reserved for them. God is saying to you that whatever piece of land you now possess, there is a greater mountain for you to climb and attain. He is the God of enlargement, and He said we must ask of Him and He will give us the nations as our inheritance and the outermost part of the world as our possession:

Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.

Psalm 2:8 (NLT)

  1. The mountain is inhabited by spiritual giants however you can drive them out

If the mountain was easy to conquer, the house of Joseph would have driven out its inhabitants and taken possession of it. However it wasn’t and that is why Joshua had to encourage them to take possession.

There are mountains that God may call you to climb; it could be a mountain of career, ministerial, business, finance, family, education, media, etc. As you begin to climb, you may find that there are spiritual giants standing in the way who are determined to prevent you from conquering and inhabiting that mountain. However Jesus Christ has already defeated Satan when He died on the Cross and He has given us the power to tread upon every spiritual serpent and scorpion and they shall not hurt us:

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Psalm 91:13 (KJV)

Prayer

Dear Lord, please help me to be bold so that I can possess the mountain You have laid out for me to climb in Jesus name, amen.

What does it mean to be successful in God’s eye?

This week’s scripture, encourages us to obey all the commands of God so that we can be successful:

If you obey all the commands in this agreement, you will continue to succeed in everything you do.

Deuteronomy 29:9 (ERV)

What is success?

There are many definitions of success. The world tends to define success by your education, position in life and the things you possess, i.e. money, houses, cars etc. These things perform an important function in our lives however we cannot measure our success by the things that we possess only.

Jesus warns us that we should “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Luke 12:15)

God does promise that if we obey His commands He will make us successful in everything we do, this means we will flourish spiritually, financially, physiologically, relationally, academically, and in all other areas.

What does it mean then to be successful in God’s eyes?

Biblical success can be defined as the following:

  1. Having a relationship with God

We can only have a relationship with God The Father through Jesus Christ His Son:

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6)

  1. Love The Lord and love your neighbour as yourself

Once we have this relationship with God we should learn to love the Lord and to love our fellow human beings as we love ourselves:

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39)

  1. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness

The Kingdom of God is the reign of God in the hearts of people and it is also an everlasting Kingdom (Psalm 145:13) that will replace all the kingdoms of this world (Daniel 2:44, Revelation 11:15).

When we seek for the expansion of God’s Kingdom on earth, the way we spend our time and the things we do will be different. We will be so Kingdom minded that we will want to share the good news about Jesus Christ everywhere we go at any given opportunity, and when we do this all the natural blessings that we want will be given unto us:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33)

  1. Walk in God’s purpose for your life

There is a purpose or reason for everything. Purpose is God’s original intention for you, it is the reason why God created you.

I want to assure you that there is a reason why you are alive, and your responsibility is to find out what that is. Each one of us has been called and given a specific purpose, even before time began:

“Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began” (2 Timothy 1:9)

Surrender to Jesus

You can only discover your purpose in God your Creator, therefore if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, please do so by repenting of your sins and asking Jesus to come into your heart and then ask God to show you the purpose for your life.

God has inspired me to write a 30-day workbook which is designed to help you to discover your purpose in 30-days. It will provide scriptures for you to meditate on that pertains to purpose and allow you to record any dreams, thoughts or ideas, prophecies, and impressions that come to you. If you would like a copy once it is published please let me know.

  1. Fear God and keep His commandments

The Bible tells us that when all is said and done, we ought to fear God and keep His commandments:

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

Please respond

These are my definitions of biblical success. What do you think it means to be successful in God’s eye? Please share your views, I would love to hear from you. Please contact me at info@blessingcoaching.com

Do you want everything to go well for you?

Our Scripture this week tells us what to do if we want everything to go well for us and our children:

Observe and obey all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 12:28

In this scripture Moses was telling the children of Israel before they entered the promise land, the things that they must do if they wanted things to go well for them and their children.

These words also apply to us as followers of Jesus Christ, because God doesn’t change, He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

As we are on our spiritual journey to our promise land, there are things that we must do if we want things to go well for us and our children. They are:

  1. Observe the Words of God – to observe means to keep, to watch and to preserve the Word of God. This is basically telling us to take a keen interest in the Bible which is described as the Word of Life (Philippians 2:16) because when you read and confess it, it literally transforms you and brings to life areas that were previously dead. For example your faith may be weak however you can increase your faith by reading the Word of God: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17);
  2. Obey the Word of God – to obey the Word means to do what the Word of God says. We are encouraged to be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves (James 1:22);
  3. Do what is good in the sight of God– goodness is one of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). If you see your brother or sister in need, you should be eager to help them out of the goodness of your heart. The story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37 shows that we ought to be good to people who are in need whether or not we know them;
  4. Do what is right in the sight of God – to do what is right in the sight of God is to do what God’s Word says. The Bible says that there is a way that seems right unto a man but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12). We may do things to try to please other people however the Bible tells us not to be men pleasers (Ephesians 6:6) because it is God who will judge us and not man (Isaiah 33:22).

When you are reading and confessing the Word, and doing what is good and right in the sight of God, it may seem temporarily painful because you are not doing what your natural inclination may tell you, however if you will hold on, the Word tells us that it will go well for you and your children after you.

Just think, when you are living for God, you are heaping up blessings for you and your children. Remember, God is the faithful God, and He keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations (Deuteronomy 7:9).

5 Steps to developing a vision for your life

Do you have a vision for your life?

Vision is vital in life, whether it’s a vision for your spirituality, family, career, business, finances, etc. it is vital that as human beings we have a vision for our lives. The Bible says that where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). In other words, people perish where they do not know where they are going.

A vision is a mental sight, i.e. a dream, revelation, or oracle to guide you to where you are going. It is a picture in your mind that you perceive in your heart about the things that you are supposed to be doing with your life here on earth.

God gives us all visions about what we are created to do and where we should be going. These may take the form of day visions where you perceive something with your spiritual eyes that the natural eye cannot see, or through dreams whilst sleeping.

If you don’t have a vision or road map for your life, don’t despair. Follow these instructions and I believe that God will give you a vision for your life:

1. Surrender your life to Jesus Christ, acknowledging that Jesus died to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to come into your life and be Lord over your life;

2. Pray and ask God to give you His vision and purpose for your life;

3. Whatever ideas come into your mind, write it down;

4. Reflect on the ideas that come to you and ask God for direction on how to proceed;

5. Take action on the direction given to you by God. Do something everyday that moves you closer towards your God-given vision.

My forthcoming book, ‘How To Discover Your Life’s Purpose Through Dreams’ will be published shortly. On offer are practical instructions on how to discover your purpose, how to access solutions to problems you are facing or decisions you are struggling to make – all through dreams. Business, Coaching, Guidance, Idea, Jesus Christ, purpose, Spiritual, Think

It all begins with an idea!

I am in the process of setting up my own business as a Spiritual Life Coach and so I thought it might benefit some readers who are planning on setting up their business to share my story of how I began.

Firstly it all begins with in idea. In 2013 I read ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill and I also listened to preaching by men and women of God (Bill Winston, David Oyedepo, Mike Murdock, Cindy Trimm among others) who spoke at the International Gathering of Champion Conference which is organised by Matthew Ashimolowo here in London. I read books such as ‘The Spirit of Leadership’ by the late Myles Munroe, ‘The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth’ by John Maxwell and listened to personal development speakers such as Jim Rohn and Brian Tracy and all these changed my life.

I understood for the first time that ideas are things, and that everything we see around us began with an idea, and from there, I started paying attention to my ideas. In the past, ideas would come to my mind but I never paid any attention to them so they just went, never to return.

I learned from Jim Rohn that you should keep a notepad and pen with you everywhere you go and write down every idea that comes to you. In 2014  my husband got me an iPad, the best gift I have ever received to date. I have been using my iPad and now write down every single idea that comes to my mind, whether it is a book title, or messages to speak at Church or how to proceed with a particular business idea.

I think it will be good to give you some background about me. I have always liked the idea of having my own business and from a young age knew that I had an entrepreneurial spirit within me however I did not know how to express it, but it never stopped me from trying.

At Exeter University whilst doing my first degree, my best friend and I thought of ways of making money. We finally settled for what I thought was an excellent business idea, something we could do well and which was needed by every living being; food, namely cooking food for lazy university students who could not be bothered to cook for themselves or did not know how to cook.

It was all going well and we were getting some orders until one Saturday evening, I took a call from what I thought was a potential client ready to place an order. The person on the other line (whose identity I still do not know up to now), instead of placing an order proceeded to ask me if we had a food and hygiene safety certificate to prepare meals for the public, and if our business was registered for tax purposes. At the tender age of 18 and 19 respectively my friend and I were so shaken that we closed up shop that night.

Then in 2004 after graduation from Exeter, a sister of my best friend had a brilliant business idea, to set up a magazine that would be catered for young aspiring Africans living in the diaspora. It was during this business set-up that I knew I had the ability to make things happen. As soon as I caught on to the vision I ran with the idea.

At the time I was doing my Master’s degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London which attracts students from all over the world who are interested in issues of Africa and the diaspora. Using my God-given natural networking and selling skills, I managed to rally my friends as well as my fellow-students from SOAS to come on board. We came up with a great name for the magazine, ‘Modern African Generation’ and we printed one issue.

However the group became too big and I have learned that when there are too many cooks in the kitchen the food is likely to suffer, and in our case, it did. It just became too big and there were too many people on board for us to manage.

In March 2008 we held a successful Ghana at 50 Independence Day Celebration however the after-party was so poorly attended that my business partner and I made a huge loss and we both had to fork out a large amount of money from our own pocket to pay the club. So the idea flopped after that!

As I have explained in my forthcoming book ‘How to Discover Your Life’s Purpose Through Dreams’ I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 2010 and have now found my purpose, which is to ’empower people to discover their purpose and reach their potential’ and since then my life has never been the same. Every thought and idea I have are now guided by the Lord Jesus because I ask Him on a daily basis to take control over my spirit, soul (mind, will, emotions) and body and He does! He literally guides my thoughts and gives me ideas that will promote His Kingdom.

In January 2015, as I was reflecting on the new year and asking God what He had instore for me, He gave me an idea to start my business. The difference this time is that it is going to be a business with His seal of approval. Jesus Christ has given me a global vision of businesses that will serve the entire world, and not just those in London where I am based.

The first business idea He gave me in February 2015 was to set up my spiritual life coaching business. The reason I love the business is that it is something that comes so naturally to me, I love people and always want to see the best in people come forth. Since then He has guided me to write my first book which will be published on 1 June and has helped me to launch my website this week: http://www.blessingcoaching.com

I will journal the steps I have been taking to make this business idea become a reality in my next blog so please sign-up and stay tuned!

From today, if you have a brilliant business idea, please write it down.

And remember, no matter what happens in life, Jesus loves you.

With love,

Blessing

Follow Your Dreams

Since the initial dream I had about being ordained as a Pastor, I receive dreams on a regular basis which I believe guides me to the next steps I should take in life. For example, I had a significant dream about two colleagues at work. In the dream we were all in the office and they asked me if I was going to attend ‘The Supernatural School’ with them. I even saw the curriculum and it had topics such as ‘Working with Angels’ and Andrew Wommack (http://www.awmi.net/) was one of the lecturers.

Now as far as I was aware these colleagues were not in any way spiritual and did not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore as soon as I woke up from the dream I realised that God was telling me that they are going to get to know Him and they will eventually attend a supernatural school with me.

As soon as I got to work I went on the computer and searched for a supernatural school in London. I eventually came across the London School of Supernatural Ministry (http://www.ilssm.org.uk/). I applied for a place straightaway and am still waiting to hear back from them. They offer a class every Wednesday evening that I could possibly fit around my tight schedule however I am not likely to start until September 2015.

Now there is also a programme called ‘It’s Supernatural’ by Sid Roth that I absolutely love (http://sidroth.org/). He interviews people who are living a supernatural life and asks them to share the secrets to their success in the Lord. Sid Roth also offers a supernatural mentoring kit to his monthly partners. I will sign up and get this kit in due course.

Since this dream, I have also started praying for my colleagues that they will know the love of God through His Son Jesus Christ and that they will surrender their lives to Him.

The point I am making is that you should follow your dreams. I am following mine and I believe it will get me to the destination God has ordained for me before the foundation of the world.

My forthcoming book ‘How to Discover Your Life’s Purpose Through Dreams’ will show you the seven simple steps to take to discover your purpose in life through dreams. Visit my website and sign-up to be the first to get your free copy: http://www.blessingcoaching.com

What dream have you had that you need to act on? Leave a comment, I would love to heart from you.

I saw the same dream twice!

So last week, I explained how I came to discover my life’s purpose through dreams. I shared how I saw myself being ordained as a Pastor by my local Pastor, Bishop Creswell Green. I was so shocked by the dream that I asked the Lord to show me the dream again or to confirm if that dream came from Him.

Two weeks later I had the same dream and knew then that it was from God. You will recall from the Bible that Joseph told Pharaoh that God had showed him the dream twice because it was certain, so the fact that I saw the same dream twice suggested to me that God’s plan for me was also to be fulfilled.

After I woke up from the second dream I accepted my calling and recommitted my life to God and asked Him to guide me. Within a few weeks of this commitment, God started bringing people my way who needed spiritual guidance and I was put in a position where I could teach them the Word of God, encourage them and pray with them. The Lord began to soften my heart and allowed me to go through various challenges so that I could have compassion on those who are also suffering.

There are other significant dreams I have since had about my life’s purpose which you can read about in my forthcoming book ‘How to Discover Your Life’s Purpose Through Dreams’.
